Coupons, Will You Marry Me?

I am back from another satisfying trip to Target, where I grabbed some incredible deals.  Anybody who still thinks that using coupons is a waste of time should have seen my total drop at the register today.  I don't remember the exact cents, but the cashier gave me a grand total of $75 before coupons.  After coupons, $34.  That is a $41 savings (or 55%)!  Now, I did have to spend a small amount of time clipping coupons, and I read ahead to see what was on sale so I had a coupon matchup strategy.  However, overall it is worth the work when you save like that (and I managed to complete the task with two small kids in my cart, distracting me left and right).  For anybody with kids, the one deal that I found the most satisfying is the following:

Krispy Kreme Valentines = FREE Donuts!

This morning I took my kids to Krispy Kreme as a breakfast treat; I have no doubt we'll run those calories off later at the park (that's my justification and I'm sticking to it).  While I was there I noticed that they have their annual Valentines available for purchase.  You can pick up a dozen (12) Valentine's Day Cards for $3.99 plus tax (of course this price could vary based on your location).  Each card is valid for "One Free Doughnut" through March 15, 2011.  I spent around $1 each to get my two kids their own doughnut this morning, but if you buy these coupons you'll be getting a dozen doughnuts for the price of about four.  Better deal, right?!  So, I bought a book, and I will store them away until another few weeks from now when I can take them all back and get "free" doughnuts for everyone-- and then I suppose we'll have some more running around the park to do.  On the other hand, you could get them for the purpose of letting your kids hand them out to their classmates on Valentine's Day.  Here are some pics of the Valentine's Day Cards/Coupons.  As you can see, each one comes with a different picture.
